Hola Familia,
Wow, It sounds like you guys had quite the busy week. That is kind of sad that you guys don't get to go to the Dominican Republic. What a bummer. You probably can't go because I am not there. You never took me to any cool places. Besides, Kenzie has already gone to Puerto Rico. I am sure you are going to enjoy the summer. It must be nice to be able to get away from teaching. Also, I forgot to wish Kyle a happy birthday last week, so... Feliz CumpleaƱos.
It sounds like this was a big sports week for you guys there and this week will to. That is really cool how the USA could beat Holland. It sounds like it was quite the game. Also, I hope the US women can win the World Cup. I wish I could see it. Saturday was the Champions League final between Barcelona and Juventus. Everyone here was watching the game. It was impossible to teach during it. People had talked about the game for 2 weeks. We ended up seeing a lot of the game going from house to house looking for a lesson.
Well, transfers were this week and I got a new companion, a BRAND new companion. Yep, that's right, I am training a new missionary. His name is Elder Orbegoso from Arequipa Peru. He now has 6 days in the mission field. I can already say that I never want to train again. It is really hard because my companion doesn't know the lessons so I have to teach it all. When I let him teach he teaches just part of the key points and misses some of them. I then have to go fill in the blanks and tie it in to what he said. It is really hard but it is a really good experience for me. It will help me become a better missionary and eventually a better person. We are dedicating a lot of time to study to learn all the lessons.
My week has been full of meetings, studying, and teaching. I feel exhausted right now. Because I am training, we had to go to more meetings this week that took up a lot of time. We also have to study at least one more hour each day. We are studying a lot so my companion can learn the lessons quickly and be a great missionary. We worked really hard this week and found a lot of new investigators. We kind of swept out any old investigators that weren't progressing and filled in their places with new people.
I can't wait for June 21. The Trujillo Temple in Peru will be dedicated. They are going to broadcast the temple dedication to all the stake centers in Peru. I am super excited because the missionaries get to go to the dedication. It should be a really pretty dedication. All the members are really excited too.
I also found one of my new favorite foods. They are called Juanes. It is like a tamale but with rice and they are amazing. They have the best flavor ever. If you put a little salsa on top, they are even better. It is a food that comes from the jungle of Peru. Not too many people in Lima make them but when they do, they are super popular.
Well that is about all my week,
Elder Isaacson
