Buenas Dias,

Well, I am not quite sure what I want to say this week, so I will see where this goes. It is really weird how life goes on without me there. Kyle is going to get married and is continuing with his studies. Kenzie went on her first date, and I can't believe Bridger Clarke already got home from his mission. It seems like he just left.

It sounds like you guys really need the water up there. I think Lima needs it too. The ground is so dry. The last three days have been super hot. I feel like I am just about to die while walking through the street. It is good that the people here are good and let us in there house and give us something to drink. There houses aren't much cooler because they don't have air conditioning but it gets me out of the sun. I saw (or felt) wind for the first time here yesterday. It was horrible. All Lima is is dust and because of that we just got pelted all day long by grains of sand. It was hard to see while you walked because you didn't want to open your eyes. It looks like it was just a one day thing.

I just gained 4 kilos pretty fast but then I dropped two of those. I think I am staying stable right there but I haven't weighed myself for almost two months so I really don't know. My body is used to all the rice now so I haven't put on weight like I did when I got here.

Carlos was super excited yesterday when he came to church yesterday because it was the first time he went as a member. I am not quite sure what has happened with his family because they don't live in our area but I woudn't be suprised if they listened to the missionaries. We have a great investigator who is going to be baptized March 7th. We just need her mom to sign the baptisimal permission slip. She went and saw her yesterday so we should get it right away. She is great though. She goes to church and the young women's activities. She really enjoys it and can't wait to get baptized.

Other than that, my week was pretty normal. We did have a training by Pres. Erickson this Wednesday. It was great. He helped us understand how we can teach the Plan of Salvation better. That lesson has become my favorite lesson to teach. It is probably the hardest but the people can really understand it and our need to follow Christ. I can just see the spirit working in them while we teach that lesson.

Love you lots,
Elder Karter
